Welcome to the Paintings of John Richards

I began painting after studying Graphic Design in Bristol from 1971 -1974, and from the onset have maintained a figurative style in oils, lately adopting a freer style in soft pastel.

In the main, I enjoy painting charoscuro portraits, expanding and remodelling the initial source to produce a deeper, more striking image.

I have exhibited throughout the country since the 70's and more recently in New Zealand as a member of the Otago Arts Society.

My repertoire also covers large murals, sign writing and lettering for individual clients, corporate bodies and charities.

Since returning to the UK, I live in the beautiful Vale of Evesham which continues to inspire me.
